We are seeking a talented and motivated Associate specialising in Litigation to join our dynamic team.
The Role Associate (Litigation and Insolvency)
We currently have a position for a 1 4 year PAE litigation lawyer to join our expanding litigation team in Brisbane (with a focus on commercial litigation debt recovery and insolvency).
The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running and will be given matters focusing on commercial litigation debt recovery secured and unsecured enforcement and insolvency. The individual will have regular direct contact with a variety of clients and referrers and senior practitioners in the firm. You must be able to demonstrate your experience skills and responsibilities in the following criteria:
Demonstrated experience in running commercial litigation and dispute resolution files;
Excellent advocacy skills for court appearances and mediations;
A willingness to learn and to run litigation and insolvency matters with relative autonomy through to trial (if necessary);
Excellent drafting skills including correspondence advice and Court documents (i.e. pleadings applications and affidavits);
Preparing briefs to experts town agents and Counsel;
A solid working knowledge and understanding of the State and Federal Court rules;
Excellent technical skills and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will also:
Be an enthusiastic and positive team player and collaborator with existing team members;
Be a self-starter and self-motivator who is well organised with the ability to meet deadlines and hold themselves accountable;
Have high professional and ethical standards;
Be confident and be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing;
Be aligned with the firms values and culture;
Be able to support the progression and reputation of the firm and build and maintain positive client team and community relationships.
Ideally we would like our new team member to have experience in all of the above and be ready to commence as soon as possible.
