In a fast-paced team environment the Material Handler will be responsible for the daily receiving shipping and delivery of merchandise at the Cornell Store Warehouse. Under general supervision receive a high volume of packages annually support more than $26 million in in-store and satellite location sales ensure efficiency and accuracy in the receiving and shipping of retail merchandise and help support web order fulfillment.
The Material Handler will:
Work efficiently and prioritize appropriately in a fast-paced team environment.
Demonstrate a professional demeanor to best serve our team and internal customers in a positive way.
Regularly utilize strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Demonstrate proficiency with the necessary software and programs used by Cornell Retail Services
Establish and maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with members of Cornell Retail Services and the campus community.

This position is part of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union. The current rate of pay is listed in the collective bargaining agreement here: and starts at $27.13/hour.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalency.
3-5 years of related warehouse shipping/receiving material handling and e-commerce order fulfillment experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain certification for forklift operation and stock picker within 6 months of being hired.
Ability to work flexible hours with a schedule that varies depending on business needs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and regularly lift 70-250 lbs using appropriate hand and power tools(dolly forklift etc.).
Have a valid New York State drivers license which must be maintained throughout employment.
Ability to periodically drive a delivery truck on Cornells Ithaca campus.
Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity equity access inclusion and well-being.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of retail terminology and products.
Knowledge of domestic and international shipping methods and standards.
Experience with NetSuite ERP and/or RF Smart.
