Job Description
Key Focus Area(s):
- Identification and evaluation of risks and hazardous conditions and practices
- Development of risk and hazard control methods policies and procedures
- Measurement and evaluation of risk and hazard control program effectiveness
- Communication of risk and hazard control information to all levels
- Continuous improvement of all aspects of Malcos safety occupational health and environmental management systems activities and processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess risks hazardous conditions and unsafe practices to create strategies that promote workplace safety and minimize liabilities.
- Develop and execute policies and procedures for risk control ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough audits inspections and risk evaluations for equipment processes and facilities to detect and address safety concerns proactively.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local safety regulations as well as applicable industry standards through consistent oversight and updates.
- Manage programs related to workers compensation focusing on insurance practices claims and processes to support employee recovery and reduce workplace risks.
- Collaborate with management to define safety objectives achieve regulatory compliance and integrate best practices into the organizational culture.
- Maintain accurate safety records monitor trends and prepare detailed reports to recommend corrective actions and enhance safety performance.
- Design and provide safety training materials workshops and employee engagement initiatives to cultivate participation in safety committees and reinforce knowledge.
- Compile analyze and interpret incident accident loss and exposure data and prepare reports designed to communicate valid and comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to decision-making personnel and senior management.
- Maintain current knowledge about technical safety topics and issues and federal and state OSHA regulations federal and state environmental regulations and ANSI and other consensus standards.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in occupational safety risk management or related field
- Certification as a Certified Safety Professional Safety Management Professional Associate Safety Professional or Occupational Health and Safety Technician preferred
- Five or more years related experience
- Knowledge of federal and multiple state safety and environmental regulations and applicable consensus standards
- Knowledge of insurance practices and processes including workers compensation general liability and property insurance
- Understanding of federal and state Voluntary Protection Programs
- Ability to support multiple facilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Training/certification (or ability to obtain such) in the areas of Industrial Laser Safety Officer mobile elevating work platform supervisor Class E Water Supply System Operator DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation HAZWOPER (Operations and Incident Command levels) and first aid/CPR/AED.
