Were looking for a Data Science Lead to drive high-impact initiatives across Home and Motor Claims within our Consumer Insurance division. Using data AI and ML youll enhance claims performance optimise cost management and help shape the future of how we manage claims at Suncorp.
This is a critical delivery-focused role directly supporting the Claims Value & Transformation (CVT) program ensuring Suncorp is leveraging its AI capabilities to improve claims cost visibility and control.
What youll do
- Lead and deliver key Data Science projects across Home & Motor Claims
- Lead a team of analytics partners and guiding them through AI/ML initiatives
- Design and implement scalable predictive models and advanced analytics solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate insights into operational outcomes
- Partner with Tech & Ops teams to enhance our data infrastructure
- Identify and lead high-impact AI/ML opportunities (Value Hunts)
- Ensure compliance ethical use and governance of all data science outputs
- Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
What youll bring
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (Statistics Actuarial Data Science Mathematics Computer Science)
- 5 years experience in Data Science or related advanced analytics roles
- Proven experience solving commercial problems using machine learning and AI
- Strong capability in Python Databricks and DBT
- Experience working with unstructured data LLMs or NLP frameworks highly regarded
- Commercial focus and a growth mindset
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills
