About the role
You will increase exposure and enhance the reputation of Federation University through coordinated internal and external communication activities. You will be a key contact for matters related to media and communications lead local media engagement and work on strategic communications planning and internal communications as part of the Corporate Communications team.
You will work between various University and TAFE campuses and will occasionally be required to work after hours and/or weekends.
You will:
coordinate proactive media opportunities to promote and build the reputation of Federation University and TAFE;
handle reactive media enquiries by drafting timely and strategic responses to protect Federations reputation;
create and distribute engaging internal communications to staff across a range of delivery platforms; and
contribute collaboratively to a media and communications calendar ensuring the coordinated promotion of campaigns announcements and events.
About you
You will have demonstrated media and communications experience which includes writing and editing media releases news stories EDMs corporate document and digital content including spelling grammar punctuation plain English tone and brand style.
You will possess demonstrated:
experience in dealing with proactive and reactive media;
communication and presentation skills with some experience in social media photography and video production;
organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks collate material from several sources and produce a range of content within competing deadlines; and
ability to work as part of a team build relationships and work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
