You will work as a team member of the Patient Services Admissions Department and will be responsible for acting as the key contact point for patients clinicians managers and health funds in regard to a patients pre-admission admission discharge billing and debtors follow up.
The Position
Informing all patients of their out-of-pocket cost of hospitalisation.
Liaising with medical receptionists in doctors rooms for item numbers as required.
Quoting all uninsured patients of their cost of hospitalisation (refer to doctors rooms).
Liaising with any patient who has a query with their cover at the admission centre over the phone or on the ward.
Liaise with Health Funds to establish patient level of cover prior to patient admission.
Contact for all patient queries regarding their level of cover and out-of-pocket expenses.
All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant manager / supervisor. This may include assisting in the provision of tasks through the other service deliverables within Patient Administration Services.
You will have proficient knowledge of the health industry health funds and sound interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with hospital colleagues patients families medical staff and members of the general public.
To succeed you will demonstrate computer literacy with previous clerical experience and ability to prioritise tasks and undertake a number of tasks simultaneously.

We can offer
Salary $59 041 to $60705 (pro rata if part time) plus 12% superannuation
Permanent full-time position
