You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOur client a reputable specialist hospital in Abeokuta Ogun State is seeking to hire an experienced and results-oriented Diagnostics Manager to lead its Medical Diagnostics Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction operational oversight and quality assurance for all diagnostic services including medical laboratories radiology and pathology.
This role is central to ensuring accurate timely and cost-effective diagnostic services that support effective clinical decision-making and enhance patient outcomes.
Supervise daily operations across all diagnostic units (laboratory radiology and pathology).
Ensure seamless patient workflow timely test/report delivery and optimal equipment usage.
Collaborate with clinical departments to support integrated patient care.
Develop and implement robust quality control and quality assurance systems.
Ensure compliance with national and international diagnostic standards (e.g. ISO 15189 WHO MLSCN RRBN).
Lead the department in regulatory inspections audits and accreditation processes.
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of scientists radiographers technicians and support staff.
Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
Promote a culture of excellence collaboration and accountability.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
Monitor expenses and promote cost-effective service delivery.
Oversee procurement and maintenance of diagnostic equipment reagents and consumables.
Identify and implement technological upgrades and service innovations.
Support digital integration through Laboratory and Radiology Information Systems (LIS/RIS).
Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives for service growth and improvement.
Fully registered with relevant professional bodies (e.g. MLSCN RRBN).
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in diagnostic services including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong understanding of diagnostic systems equipment LIS and RIS platforms.
Excellent leadership interpersonal and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Hospital Management Systems (HMS).
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with health insurance billing and diagnostics coding practices.
