Summary:
We are seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist for a 13-week night shift contract. The role focuses on the acquisition and interpretation of sleep studies with an emphasis on pediatric patients. This position is ideal for candidates with at least 1 year of experience in sleep diagnostics including pediatric sleep disorders and registry in Polysomnography.
Prepare and monitor pediatric and adult patients for overnight polysomnography studies
Collect analyze and interpret sleep data using established protocols
Apply and adjust sensors and electrodes to ensure accurate data collection
Monitor respiratory and cardiac activity oxygen saturation muscle tone and brain waves
Document patient observations and maintain accurate records
Recognize and respond to critical events such as respiratory distress or cardiac abnormalities
Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment and troubleshoot technical issues
Collaborate with sleep physicians and interdisciplinary care teams on patient assessments
1 year of recent sleep lab experience
Experience with pediatric sleep studies required
Registry in Polysomnography (RPSGT or equivalent) required
Must be able to work independently with a 2:1 patient ratio
Must be available to work every other weekend
First-time travelers accepted
RTO must be submitted at the time of profile submission
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography or Sleep Technology program
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience performing sleep studies including pediatric patients
License & Certifications:
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Required
BLS Preferred
State license If applicable (must be active at time of submission)
Clinical Proficiencies:
Pediatric sleep study monitoring
Overnight polysomnography setup and scoring
BiPAP/CPAP titration
Use of EEG EKG pulse oximetry EMG and respiratory equipment
Troubleshooting sensor/equipment issues in real time
Data interpretation and reporting for physician review
Work Environment:
Pediatric and adult sleep lab
2:1 patient-to-tech ratio
Night shift clinical setting
