Honda Canada is seeking an experienced Training Development Specialist to develop and manage training solutions for Automotive Sales Service and Technical Training. This role is dynamic with a strong focus on a digital-first approach beginning with a mobile training app and extending to Virtual Learning eLearning and in-person training.
The ideal candidate will work closely with Subject Matter Experts and teams across Honda Canada brands (Honda Acura and Power Sports/Power Equipment) to design learning that meets specific business needs.

With the introduction of Hybrid and Electric vehicles we are developing specialized training solutions to support this transition. A strong interest in learning development and educational technologies is a valuable asset for this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design develop and implement mobile app content videos virtual learning e-Learning job aids and classroom training related materials.
- Responsible for project management and leading training activities with vendor partners.
- Responsible for consulting with internal clients subject matter experts and other stakeholders to understand learning needs and define success measures.
- Maintain existing training courses and materials.
- Facilitate and lead Pilot training and Train-the-Trainer sessions for various programs.
- Work with other instructional designers sales & service trainers to ensure effective communication of issues needs problems and opportunities.
- Other duties or projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College diploma or University degree preferably with Adult Learning & Education preferred or equivalent experience;
- Minimum of 2 years experience designing and managing the development of web-based video based or virtual learning;
- Progressive Honda experience and a passion for the product and technology will be considered equivalent to a formal training background;
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems is preferred;
- Knowledge and application of adult learning theory training needs analysis instructional design information design training methodologies learning technologies and measurement strategies;
- Must have strong project management skills and ability to meet project quality expectations within schedule commitments;
- Experience in technical writing graphic design or eLearning development is considered an asset;
- Current knowledge of emerging and progressive content design techniques and strategies is a definite asset;
- Develops and maintains good working relationships and all members of the team.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships within Honda North America as well as all other internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop establish and maintain good working relationship with Honda North America suppliers partners consultants stakeholders and other network contacts.
- Enjoys team building approach of management and department - shares results.
