You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a visionary technically grounded and entrepreneurial Country Head to lead and grow ourIndias operations. The ideal candidate will have a design/engineering background in electrical civil or mechanical engineering ideally with project management experience. The candidates with leadership roles in Design & Engineering (PMC) organisations in Rail & Infrastructure sector will be preferred. This individual will take full responsibility for building the India business aligning it with global strategy and fostering a high-performance engineering team. This is a CEO-equivalent leadership role with a direct seat at the strategic decision-making table.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Indian operations as strategic head.
Play a pivotal role in launching & growingbusiness in India.
Identify & capitalise on business opportunities in rail sector in India.
Proficient in managing P & L risk management cash flow optimisation budgeting & financial reporting.
Extensive knowledge of design & engineering in rail/ infrastructure sector including trends technologies & best practices.
Build manage & scale up a multidisciplinary design & engineering team in Ahmedabad.
Coordinate with the UK leadership to align on project delivery quality benchmarks and growth strategies.
Oversee project execution and ensure timely high-quality technical delivery maintaining highest operational efficiency.
Provide technical oversight and inputs on identifying & resolving complex engineering problems (preferably in electrical/civil/mechanical systems).
Maintain and enhance client relationships both internal (UK team) and external.
Represent India operations at leadership meetings and contribute to global decisionmaking.
Ensure compliance with local labour laws company laws tax laws statutory requirements. Also ensure compliance to groups policies and maintain companys ethical standards.
Experience & Qualifications:
M.E./ . Or B.E./ B. Tech. In Electrical Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
20 years in engineering consultancy or design-focused organisations.
Experience in design & engineering consultancy organisations in Rail/ Infrastructure sectors preferred.
Prior leadership experience as Business Unit Lead/ Operations Director or at least 2nd in command in Design & Engineering in Consultancy organisation for at least 5 years
Skills & Qualities:
Strategic Leadership: Expertise in leading a design & engineering consultancy firm steering the company through growth phases.
Operations Management: Ability to manage technical teams and drive quality outcomes.
Confident communicator with excellent coordination and stakeholders (internal & external) management abilities.
Growth mindset and entrepreneurial drive.
Comfortable operating in a matrix/global structure and collaborating remotely.
Passionate about coaching teams fostering leadership & creating high performing organisation.
Desirable:
Experience with international engineering projects especially UK/Europe standards.
Familiarity with multi-disciplinary engineering software such as AutoCAD REVIT ROBOT IES Tekla Ted Microstation Relux/Dialux XGSLab ETAP CDEGS & Electrical OM/Trimble or similar tools.
