Job Description

AECOM Buildings Places AECOMs Architectural business unit is seeking an Architectural BIM Specialist to join our team. This position is based out of our Canadian headquarters in Markham ON with opportunities for hybrid work.

The Buildings and Places Team is a vibrant and growing business line which delivers engineering architectural and project management services as well as planning and economic analysis for vertical construction projects.  Project assignments may include although not limited to commercial institutional healthcare pharmaceutical water / waste water and transit facilities. 

The successful candidate will have proven experience working on the digital delivery of building projects including documentation and data deliverables an understanding of Architectural technology BIM and is familiar with the architectural design of commercial institutional and industrial facilities. The successful candidate will have a high level of initiative motivation and displays drive energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. Your proficiency in using Revit BIM360 and other digital tools to deliver detailed design documentation coupled with your experience in working successfully across multidisciplinary teams across a variety of building projects will be highly regarded.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • BIM/CAD operating and architectural design using Revit MicroStation and AutoCAD as required
  • Ensuring overall data quality and integrity
  • Developing and preparing architectural models and design drawings
  • Preparing documentation for design projects and reports
  • Undertaking quality control procedures
  • Working within a team environment and being able to communicate effectively with other project team members and clients
  • Assuring that architectural related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and supporting timeliness of resolution effort

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    In order to be considered for this position candidates must have no less than:

    • College Diploma in Architectural Technology or other relevant field of study 4 years of relevant experience.

    Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may also be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Relevant experience using Revit and AutoCAD (version 2010 or later) and 3D capable. 
    • Extensive architectural design and detailing skills in addition to set up planning and review of detailed design drawing packages.
    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Possess excellent written and communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues contractors and clients

    • Relocation is not available for this position.
