POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team. This is a crucial role in ensuring successful compliant safety programs in construction and general industry.
This role involves conducting risk assessments training employees managing safety staff and ensuring a safe working environment to minimize workplace hazards and incidents. The Safety Manager will also oversee a team of safety personnel including Safety leads and Safety professionals to ensure compliance with the company and regulatory safety standards across all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Development & Compliance
- Develop implement and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA EPA and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure company operations align with industry safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and update safety documentation including policies procedures training records and incident reports.
- Investigate accidents incidents and near-misses determining root causes and implementing corrective/preventive measures.
- Stay up to date on changes in OSHA ANSI NFPA and other relevant safety standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in safety audits inspections and compliance reviews.
Training & Employee Engagement
- Design and conduct safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness through toolbox talks meetings and incentive programs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to employees and management regarding safety procedures and best practices.
Safety Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and mentor Safety Leads and Safety Professionals across multiple projects or facilities.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development for the safety team to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Site Inspections & Hazard Control
- Perform routine job site inspections to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
- Ensure that all employees and subcontractors adhere to safety regulations.
Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Develop and implement emergency response plans including fire evacuation medical response and chemical spill protocols.
- Conduct emergency drills and train employees on emergency procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and emergency response teams in case of workplace incidents.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
5 years of experience leading and developing safety programs.
5 years of safety leadership experience.
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in construction safety or a related field.
Ability to effectively communicate safety concepts and procedures to individuals at all levels of the organization.
A valid drivers license is required.
Ability to travel to and work on construction sites with a variety of environmental conditions.
CSP/GSP/ASP/CHST certification preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
