Job Summary
The EEC Executive Director Information Technology and Noncredit Learning Enterprise will be responsible for leading the strategic direction budget oversight and operations of Extension and Extended Campus technology infrastructure eLearning support and content governance teams to support fiscal growth of EEC (Extension and Extended Campus) business units.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Senior leadership position responsible for leading the strategic direction budget oversight and operations of Extension and Extended Campus technology enterprise. Oversee the digital operational lifecycle of noncredit online program development including program review course build quality assurance and launch ensuring high standards and scalability for future growth. Collaborate with University central IT to leverage existing and planned campus IT resources and services. Through consensus-building with other university departments develop a comprehensive strategic e-learning investment plan to support aggressive expansion into noncredit online content sales. Enable partnerships with VP EEC academic affairs and colleges to implement digitally enabled noncredit courses. Align technology solutions to help bridge gaps between noncredit and credit programs. Effectively communicate the EEC vision and plans throughout the department and relevant University colleges/departments. Align EEC technology risk assessment and management with university risk management programs. Support VP of EEC on special projects. Performs other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Science Business Administration Engineering or related field. 10 years of leadership experience including managing teams in Information Technology (experience may run concurrently). 10 years of supervisory experience directing IT professionals; systems analysis and design including relational databases and client-server concepts and/or 4 years experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Applications. Equivalent combinations of education certification training and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience with strategic and business planning methods tools and processes. Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting of subject matter experts vendors subcontractors and clients. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing distance learning systems models and application with positive results and feedback from customers and instructors. Demonstrated ability to plan launch and deliver multiple projects on time and within budget. Ability to weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate issues to management. Strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Computer Science Business Administration Engineering or related field. 10 years of experience in higher education technology.
Work Schedule
Monday Friday; 8:00a.m. 5:00p.m. Occasional travel required. Evening and weekend work may be required.
