Job Description

  • Base salary range: Level B $113934 $134824 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The School of Engineering at The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a multidisciplinary school that delivers world-class education and research across various engineering disciplines including biomedical civil environmental mining chemical mechanical electrical and electronic and automation and robotics.

The school has a dedicated team of teaching and research academics who contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Our research spans a wide range of engineering fields with strong industry collaborations that drive real-world impact.

About the opportunity

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across core first- and second-year engineering subjects while fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Develop innovative teaching strategies assess student progress supervise projects and contribute to curriculum and assessment design.
  • Participate in school governance support diversity and inclusion and contribute to university activities and professional communities.

About you

  • PhD in Engineering or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative teaching across a diverse range of fundamental engineering topics at the tertiary level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality student-centred teaching and learning.
  • Experience with modern pedagogical approaches including blended learning active learning and the use of digital technologies in education.
  • Demonstrable experience of participation at an appropriate level in education/research leadership in public engagements that promote research and/or education outcome government and industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles
