About the role
Key details:
- Working week:Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:20pm 31.68 hrs per week Term-time only
- Wage:7.55 per hour

- Apprenticeship Standard:Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEND Pathway)
- Duration:16 months
Overview of the role:
To work under the guidance of designated teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom. The primary focus will be to supervise and provide support for pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
Key responsibilities:
- To understand the importance of inclusion equality and diversity both when working with pupils and with colleagues and to promote equal opportunities for all.
- To uphold and promote the values and the ethos of the school.
- To implement and uphold the policies procedures and codes of practice of the School including relating to customer care finance data protection ICT health & safety anti-bullying and safeguarding/child protection.
- To take a pro-active approach to health and safety working with others in the school to minimise and mitigate potential hazards and risks and actively contribute to the security of the school e.g. challenging a stranger on the premises.
- To participate and engage with workplace learning and development opportunities to continually improve own performance and that of the team/school.
- To attend and participate in relevant meetings as appropriate.
- To undertake any other additional duties commensurate with the grade of the post.

Apprenticeship Overview
During this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils wellbeing. You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the childrens learning experiences helping them to succeed academically and personally.
