Job Description
Human Resources Director McHenry IL (On-Site)
Are you an experienced HR leader ready to take on a pivotal role in a growing organization Were looking for a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Director to join a well-established company in the plastics industry based in McHenry IL.
Reporting directly to the President this role offers the opportunity to shape HR strategy while overseeing day-to-day HR operations. Youll be a trusted advisor to the executive team and play a critical role in driving organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead develop and manage the HR function staff and programs to support business goals

Oversee talent management succession planning and organizational development initiatives
-
Design and implement strategic recruiting onboarding and retention plans
-
Administer compensation benefits and 401(k) plans ensuring competitive and cost-effective programs

Manage performance management systems and employee relations processes
-
Ensure compliance with employment laws regulations and internal policies
-
Guide managers on employee counseling disciplinary actions and performance evaluations
-
Oversee safety programs workplace injury reporting and OSHA compliance
Qualifications:
-
10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years at a director level or above
-
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field (Masters degree or SPHR/PHR certification a plus)

Strong generalist background covering all key HR functions

Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements

Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels and handle sensitive issues with discretion

Strong leadership problem-solving and communication skills

Comfortable working strategically while managing day-to-day HR operations
