Job Title: Mental Health Diversion/Court Support Worker

Work Location: CMHA Kenora Branch

Employment Status: Full-Time 12-Month Contract

Overview:

The Mental Health Diversion/Court Support Worker is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Mental Health Association Kenora Branch. The Mental Health Diversion/Court Support Worker is expected to work as a member of a team and is expected to participate in regular peer supervision coordination with the Dual Diagnosis Court Diversion/Court Support Worker Forensic Case Manager Rent Supplement Housing Case Manager Kenora Justice Center Mental Health Support Worker and attend regular supervision with the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

Degree in social work or demonstrated equivalent MSW preferred Regulated through the OCSWSSW

In depth knowledge of the criminal justice system and the Mental Health Act obtained through academic training or practical experience

Knowledge of mental health/mental illness and mental health difficulties

Knowledge of developmental disabilities FASD acquired Brain Injury etc

Highly developed screening assessment skills

Highly developed advocacy skills

Working knowledge of community resources and agencies

Ability to build community linkages and networks to ensure planning and delivery of individualized services

Competence for diverse populations

Ability to work independently

Computer literacy and recording skills
