Job Description

  • To serve as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) responsible for formulating and ensuring the effective implementation of strategies for the acquisition provision and maintenance of marine equipment.
  • This includes ensuring full compliance with safe working practices established marine standards and relevant international rules and regulations in order to meet operational performance targets and ensure maritime safety.
  • Ship Masters license or a degree from an Institution of Shipping Studies.
  • 10 years experience on board and on shore in a shipping company with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Good understanding of various aspects of the fleet operations particularly marine related aspects (safety communication and navigation)
  • Advanced leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of marine/ ships technicalities tools and equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent coordination skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Fluency in English.
