About the Child Youth and Family (CYF) Program

Life Without Barriers delivers Out of Home Care services across Australia supporting children and young people who are unable to live safely at home. Our work is guided by Cornell Universitys evidence-based Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) model which promotes trauma-informed developmentally appropriate and relationship-based care.

About the Role

Were seeking a compassionate and committed House Manager to lead one of our residential care homes in Perth (NOR). Reporting to the Operations Manager youll oversee day-to-day operations and create a safe culturally respectful and therapeutic environment for young people with complex needs.

This is a hands-on role based primarily on-site with one day per week at our Leederville office. Some shift work is required including public holidays and occasional early starts (7:30am) and weekends with applicable penalty rates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers
  • Ensure the home is emotionally and physically safe nurturing and engaging
  • Build strong trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Manage care planning transitions and stakeholder collaboration
  • Roster staff appropriately and respond to crisis situations when needed
  • Facilitate team meetings reflective supervision and ongoing training
  • Keep client records and reports up to date using CIRTS database

About You

  • Certificate IV in Child Youth & Family Intervention (or similar qualification)
  • Experience supporting young people with trauma and high needs
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Confident in managing crisis situations and working under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
