Requirements:

To thrive as the Residential Director at Parzival Supports a unique blend of skills and qualifications is essential. Candidates must possess a Masters degree in a related field paired with five years of direct experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or a Bachelors degree with a minimum of seven years in a similar role. Strong team management skills encompassing interpersonal organizational and leadership abilities are vital for guiding your team towards achieving common objectives.

Certification as an investigator along with the willingness to pursue certification in Medication Administration Standards and as a Medical Practical Observer is crucial. Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written are necessary to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals. Additionally strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to exercise sound judgment will empower you to meet challenges effectively.

Physical capabilities including the ability to lift light to medium-weight objects and perform hands-on tasks are also required to ensure the highest level of support for our residents.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Works closely with the CEO and consults with them on all matters that would impact individuals may be related to contact with Parents individuals and staff.
  • Teaches and promotes the values established by Parzival.
  • Participates in Admissions decisions and planning with the CEO program specialists HRFs and others.
  • Assures the availability/accessibility of life in the community in accordance with the interests and abilities of each individual.
  • Maintains a minimum of 24 hours of training annually in addition to the required regulatory training.
  • Arranges for and promotes the relevant learning and development of staff.
  • Is a vital part of the executive leadership team with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Human Resources Executive.
  • Provides advice and supervisory backup for 24/7 on-call services.
  • Evaluates and supervises the performance of the Human Relations Facilitators (HRF).
  • Facilitates conflict resolution between staff.
  • Promotes On-the-spot teaching techniques and approaches and modeling while supporting HRFs during challenging situations.
  • Participates and makes certain that staff meetings/house meetings take place regularly and are well attended.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with HRFs and be available to troubleshoot as things come up.
  • Ensure the HRFs and Direct Care Professionals (DSPs) are providing the quality of care to people they support in alignment with Parzivals culture.
  • Oversees the coordination of community engagement.
  • Participates and creates professional development opportunities.
  • Have a deep understanding of person-centered approaches and are able to model and articulate this to families staff and the people being supported.
  • Approve timesheets for HRFs.
  • Conducts Investigations as needed.
  • Extensive knowledge of 6400 & 6100 regulations.
