The Staff Assistant resides in the Department of Adult Education. The mission of BPS Adult Ed is to provide a variety of flexible programs to ensure that Boston residents have access to quality instruction job training and college and career advising. We honor the diversity of our students by promoting equity and inclusion. BPS Adult Ed annually serves about 800 adult students who want to learn English participate in vocational training improve their academic level and/or graduate from high school. Day and evening as well as in-person online and virtual programs are offered.
Background Overview
The Staff Assistant supports the BPS Adult Ed CTE programs by assisting with classroom activities managing resources and helping students develop practical skills in these fields. The Staff Assistant works a flex schedule and should be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 PM to 9:30 PM on days BCAHS is in session.

NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school.
School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
