Job Description
Shopoff Realty Investments is looking for the absolute best and brightest to join our team of dedicated professionals as aStaff Accountant at our home office in Irvine California.
What you will do:
This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records preparing financial reports and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Reconcile accounts such as bank statements accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Ensure timely billing collections and payments.
- Maintain accurate aging reports and communicate with vendors and clients as needed.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes including accruals and adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare schedules and reports for management review.
What we need:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Yardi Avid Xchange or similar ERP systems).
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
