Job Description
We are hiring a full time onsite medical records specialist to join our medical record team. This person will compile healthcare information in patients medical record and maintain the accuracy quality accessibility and security of the data in both electronic and paper form.
Key responsibilities include:
- Respond and validate requests for medical information from patients and healthcare providers
- Scan and index healthcare information into patients electronic medical record (EMR)
- Process and distribute incoming faxes
- Coordinate with staff to ensure healthcare information is complete current and accurate
- Maintain confidentiality adhering to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) Months experience in health care or customer service environment
Preferred:
- Experience working specifically with medical records
We are searching for a candidate who:
- Can skillfully gather and distribute information
- Responds promptly to customer needs providing excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook Word) electronic medical records (EMR) medical practice software and internet applications
- Completes work efficiently and in a timely manner
- Communicates effectively while listening and responding appropriately to questions
- Has strong organization skills with attention to detail
