Position Overview

Impact Manager (IM) leads and develops a team of AmeriCorps members (ACMs) as idealistic emerging leaders and practitioners focused on strengthening schools and supporting students to improve performance. Reporting to an Impact Director and working from a partner school(s) the IM plays a critical role in implementing City Years school-based Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) service model mission and practices. The IM is also an effective talent developer who will support AmeriCorps members through a challenging and rewarding year of service.

Job Description

Responsibilities
AmeriCorps Member Performance Manager
Lead up to 20 AmeriCorps members as a team to meet theirimpact and service goals and leadership development potential.
First and Second Year AmeriCorps Members
Inspire the AmeriCorps members to embrace a culture of power and idealism using City Year leadership tools
team building exercises organizational culture and best practices.
Provides ongoing guidance to AmeriCorps members including coaching and leadership development through
weekly/bi-weekly one-on-one and team meetings and mid-year and end-of-year reviews.
Oversees completion of AmeriCorps member requirements such as timesheets and reports.
Mentors AmeriCorps member in developing their Leadership After City Year (LACY) plan.
Completes all administrative paperwork in a timely fashion.
Ensures AmeriCorps member activities are in compliance with AmeriCorps provisions.
Support AmeriCorps member performance through established training and development tracks.
Coach AmeriCorps members on developing productive partnerships with teachers and other student support staff.
Senior Corps Member - Directly manages and develops senior AmeriCorps members to become influential leaders on
their team. This includes responsibilities listed for First and Second Year AmeriCorps members as well as the following:

1) Sets clear vision and expectations for senior AmeriCorps members to actualize with teams.
2) Manages performance systems to measure progress against goals in areas of service and human potential
through weekly/bi-weekly one-on-one meetings and mid-year and end-of-year reviews.

Corps Member Program Delivery & Experience

Model leadership that is animated by City Years culture and values and create spaces that empower corps members to access the power of our culture and values in personally meaningful ways. The PM/IM is also an effective talent developer who will lead corps members to have a successful and rewarding year of service through civic engagement and a citizenship development curriculum. The Impact Managerwill manage up to 20 City Year corps members and 2 school partnerships.

Corps Member Program Delivery & Experience

The Impact Managerwill manage up to 20 City Year corps members and 2 school partnerships.

Service Model Delivery
1) Oversee the execution of City Years WSWC intervention programs (Tier 1 and Tier 2).
2) Content Content experts in the localimplementation of City Years WSWC service model.
3) Academic Support literacy and mathematics intervention in-class support.
4) Afterschool Programming homework labs enrichment clubs.
5) School Climate behavior coaching groups enrichment clubs and other whole school attendance behavior and
coursework initiatives.

Impact Frontline outcomes manager ensuring effective delivery of service.
1) Observe and coach AmeriCorps members monthly during Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions.
2) Responsible for data collection and database maintenance.
3) Ensure that data is available for analysis and reporting in a timely and consistent manner and that evaluation
results are used to make service and programimprovements.
4) Drive measurable monthly and weekly deliverables for AmeriCorps members to ensure effective planning and
execution of parent/community engagement events and AmeriCorps member led initiatives.
5) Responsible for monthly progress reports in line with AmeriCorps City Years national office and the Cleveland
Metropolitan School District requirements.


Messaging Frontline conduit between AmeriCorps members school faculty and staff and community members. Play a key role in communicating City Years strategic service focusimplementation and results in the context of the school site and community including:
National and local dropout data statistics and key indicators.
City Years In School On Track initiative and WSWC service framework tailored to multiple audiences.

District metrics instruments and processes for measuring school wide and student levelimpact (e.g.
SchoolPlus cyschoolhouse SchoolNet and ongoing progress monitoring tools.)

Relationship/PartnershipManager
1) Build and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to enhance service performance.
School Partners
2) Serve as a member of the schools leadership team and build strategic relationships with key personnel at the
school including principals administrators teachers and school liaisons.
3) Steward relationships by demonstrating an understanding of the schools priorities and working collaboratively to
craft andimplement solutions that leverage AmeriCorps member talent and align with the WSWC service models
output outcome andimpact goals.
4) Ensure strong communication between City Year and school partners:
Communicates ongoingimpact of service to school partners.
Includes school partners in key City Year events.
5) Facilitates regular meetings with school leadership and external stakeholders to review student progress.
City Year Staff
6) Connects site staff with AmeriCorps member team activities and school events.
7) Contributes to the overall vision of the program and service team.

Community
1) Builds strategic partnerships with stakeholders in the community of the school the team serves.
2) Develop initiatives to engage parents of the students we serve.
3) Identifies ways to build the City Year brand in the community of the partner schools we serve.

Organizational Initiatives & Site Support
1) Devote up to eight days a year to AmeriCorps member recruitment interviews.
2) Attend and help mobilize your team for whole site events such as Opening Day Make A Difference Day MLK
Day Global Youth Service Day Annual Gala Graduation and other site-wide designated events.
3) Attend overnight events including but not limited to BTR ATR Summer Academy and other national events.

4) Provides ongoing guidance and support to Senior AmeriCorps members in talent development of AmeriCorps
members.

5) Sets clear vision and expectations for senior AmeriCorps members to actualize with teams.
6) Manages performance systems to measure progress against goals in areas of service and human potential
through weekly/bi-weekly one-on-one meetings and mid-year and end-of-year reviews.

Work Environment:

City Year teams work in conjunction with Cleveland Heights School schedules. A typical day for an Impact Managerincludes a start time of 6:45 AM until 4:15 PM. Daily activities include team management classroom observations analyzing data and meetings with school staff and service partners
