Job Title: Head or Senior Legal
Department: Legal
Location: Thane Wagle Estate
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Purpose:
The Head Legal will be responsible for leading the legal function of the organization with a strategic focus on litigation and non-litigation matters legal due diligence and risk management. This role involves providing timely business-oriented legal advice to senior leadership and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws especially in the context of real estate and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Legal Advisory:
Provide proactive and comprehensive legal counsel to senior management across business functions.Real Estate Transactions:
Structure and support land acquisitions and redevelopment projects identifying potential risks and ensuring legal safeguards are in place.Litigation & Compliance:
Manage all litigation and non-litigation matters including contract disputes regulatory compliance and legal proceedings.Title Due Diligence:
Conduct and verify land/property title searches public notices and prepare detailed title reports and certificates for properties under acquisition.Documentation & Drafting:
Draft vet and review a wide range of legal documents including sale deeds title deeds MOUs agreements commercial contracts and land purchase agreements.Regulatory Interface:
Liaise with government bodies regulatory authorities and legal professionals to ensure all legal compliance requirements are fulfilled.Team Development:
Build and lead a capable legal team to provide robust legal support to all business functions.Stakeholder Communication:
Keep business leaders informed on relevant legal and regulatory developments that may impact operations.
Key Relationships:
Internal: Business Heads Project Teams Compliance Finance and other Support Functions
External: Legal Counsels Advocates Government Authorities Clients
Person Specifications:
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) Mandatory
Masters Degree in Law (LLM) Preferred
Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience in the Real Estate/Construction industry.
Proven expertise in land acquisition redevelopment conveyancing due diligence litigation and compliance.
Must have handled large-scale real estate transactions and legal matters in Mumbai Thane Kalyan Bhiwandi and Navi Mumbai.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of real estate laws contracts and regulatory frameworks
Excellent analytical drafting negotiation and decision-making skills
Fluent in English Marathi and Hindi (written and verbal)
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Leadership abilities to build and guide an efficient legal team
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Job Complexity:
High: Involves complex legal frameworks diverse documentation multi-stakeholder management and strategic legal decisions.
Job Type: Full-Time On-Site
Working Hours: 9hrsMonday to Saturday (2nd and 4th saturday OFF)
