Job Description

Role: Finance Controller (Part-time)

Salary: 85000 - 100000 FTE

Location: Amsterdam (on-site)

This role is part-time for a 12 months contract for 20-32 hours a month.

Finance Controller the role:

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Exercising control over the groups year-end audit process ensure it runs efficiently and in line with agreed timetables.
  • Preparation of the groups external financial reports on an annual basis for all NL statutory entities.
  • Help establish develop and maintain group accounting policies.
  • Maintain DUTY/VAT payments.
  • Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations for sign off by Head of EU Customs and Logistics
  • Support the development of a Control Self-Assessment return and drive the increase of compliance.
  • Ownership of the monthly and annual ledger close process

Management Reporting

  • Weekly/monthly cashflow forecasting & reporting.
  • Support the production of periodic forecasts annual budgets & long-range plans with the Head of EU Customs and Logistics.
  • Production of materials for Board meetings and presentation to the senior management team.
  • Management of the purchase ledger.
  • Review and prepare the payment run on a fortnightly basis.
  • Manage and execute payroll with the Head of EU Customs and Logistics.

Other duties

Production of financial policies procedures and controls in the Netherlands.

Leading the VAT department in the Netherlands.

Working with the Finance Department in the main HQ and support where necessary.

Finance Controller the person:

  • Qualified Accountant.
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with large volumes of data.
  • Experience managing audits and producing statutory financial statements.
  • Strong team development / leader / motivator.
  • Strong communication negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills and accounts system administration.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Must have a hands-on approach.
  • Provide evidence of managing risk and implementation of process improvements.
  • System implementation experience would be highly advantageous.
