Radiology/Mammography Tech Permanent Role Location: Plano TX 75093
Shift: 8 HR Days 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions: - Perform high-quality breast imaging procedures according to exam protocol promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure correct exams are performed on the correct patients by verifying identification and following established procedures.
- Communicate with patients using AIDET principles identifying their service needs and providing clear instructions about the exam.
- Assess patients ability to tolerate the procedure and adapt positioning or equipment as necessary.
- Prepare patients and examination areas by positioning immobilizing as needed and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Follow safety infection-control drug and radiation protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Apply proper sterile technique during invasive multimodality procedures and maintain appropriate hand hygiene.
- Maintain imaging equipment and work area cleanliness collaborating with engineers or physicists for equipment performance as needed.
- Report equipment or procedural issues to management in a timely manner.
- Maintain supplies inventory and ensure departmental safety by screening all entrants per policy.
- Obtain verify and document all required records including patient history consent forms pregnancy status and shielding precautions.
- Maintain accurate medical imaging records in department systems per policy and ensure timely interpretation of exams.
Key Success Factors: - Proficient in breast imaging including stereotactic biopsies needle localization and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
- Ability to explain procedures and establish rapport to put patients at ease.
- Deliver services accurately timely and cost-effectively within System and regulatory guidelines.
- Capable of performing tasks independently without routine supervision.
- Remain calm courteous and solution-focused under pressure.
- Administer first aid if needed and utilize emergency response resources appropriately.
- Commit to exceptional customer service by minimizing patient wait times and maintaining professionalism.
- Demonstrate competence and skills across age groups including pediatric young adult adult and geriatric care.
Qualifications: - Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Certifications/Licenses:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire)
- Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license from the State of Texas
- ARRT certification in Radiography (ARRT-R)
- ARRT certification in Mammography (ARRT-M)
