For a strategic client in the Oil & Energy sector we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Planner Engineer to join their team in Emilia-Romagna Italy.
This is a critical role responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex projects by developing monitoring and analyzing project schedules from inception through to completion.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of project controls in an industrial engineering context.
Tasks
- Schedule Development & Maintenance: Develop maintain and manage comprehensive resource-loaded project schedules based on the scope of work WBS PBS key milestones and contractual requirements.
- Progress Measurement & Reporting: Establish and implement a robust Progress Measurement System (PMS) for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) phases. Generate and issue progress S-curves manpower histograms and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to track baseline actual and forecast values.
- Analysis & Forecasting: Conduct detailed schedule float and critical path analysis to identify potential delays and risks. Report project status to senior management highlighting impacts slippages from the baseline and the forecast outlook.
- Construction & Subcontractor Management: Develop detailed schedules for all construction operations and perform in-depth workfront analysis. Analyze and validate subcontractor schedules monitoring their productivity and performance.
- Communication & Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for all scheduling matters attending internal coordination meetings and regular progress meetings with the client and subcontractors.
- Documentation: Prepare and issue detailed weekly and monthly progress reports ensuring all data is accurate and clearly presented.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of proven experience as a Project Planner or Scheduler in the Oil & Energy Petrochemical or heavy industrial construction industry.
- Expert proficiency with industry-standard planning software including Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Expert proficiency in developing and managing complex resource-loaded schedules.
- Strong understanding of project control principles including WBS progress measurement S-curves and critical path methodology.
- Experience with construction workfront analysis and subcontractor schedule management.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams clients and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in professional Italian and English is required.
- A degree in Engineering or a related technical field is highly preferred.
