Job Description
Job Title:Transit Routing Coordinator
Reports to:Transportation Manager/Assistant Transportation Manager
Department:Transportation
Job Description:
Schedule and coordinate daily transit routes with an emphasis on efficiency.
This will be an onsite position office hours. 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create efficient delivery routes which incorporate travel times service times DOT restrictions and traffic patterns.
- Plots customer locations on digital maps.
- Updates current customer information.
- Builds travel network using digital maps.
- Creates routes.
- Serve as back up to Assistant Transportation Manager.
- Assign drivers to set routes.
- Use Fleet Complete to track drivers.
- Enter pick ups and time windows in Roadnet.
- Display regular and predictable attendance.
Qualifications:
- 13 years in a transportation or distribution environment
- Experience working with MS Office (Word and Excel) and/or routing software is required.
- Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize
- Hands-on experience in route planning or dispatching delivery scheduling and familiarity with local and regional geography
- Understanding of DOT regulations HOS (Hours of Service) and safety compliance
