Director Manufacturing Financial Analysis The Director of Manufacturing Financial Analysis leads the financial planning reporting and analysis functions supporting manufacturing operations. This role partners with operations leadership to drive cost efficiency optimize capital investments and improve performance through insightful financial analysis. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of manufacturing finance standard costing and supply chain economics. Duties/Responsibilities - Lead all financial analysis related to manufacturing operations including cost of goods sold (COGS) absorption inventory valuation and capital expenditures.
- Serve as a strategic partner to plant managers supply chain leaders and operations executives to support financial decision-making.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing cost models and variance analysis tools.
- Analyze cost drivers related to equipment utilization labor productivity warehousing packaging and transport within and between facilities.
- Oversee and refine standard costing processes cost rollups and product margin analysis.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly operations reviews presenting key insights on performance drivers and trends.
- Drive budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing expenses production volumes and inventory.
- Support capital investment decisions through ROI analysis payback models and scenario planning.
- Work with product management on setting cost targets for new products.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation processes from a financial and operational perspective.
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing on setting and maintaining standard costs.
- Identify and implement process improvements across financial systems and reporting.
- Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills/ Abilities - Deep understanding of cost accounting standard costing and operational finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP Oracle etc.) and business intelligence tools (Power BI Tableau).
- Proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing Six Sigma or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Exposure to global manufacturing operations.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or related field (MBA CMA or CPA preferred).
- 15 years of progressive finance experience with at least 10 years in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
Work Environment This is primarily a desk-based role requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based mobility within the office manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
