Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours
Our client is a leading provider of high-quality care and life-changing support to young people in its specialist residential homes across London and the South of England. They are now seeking a Deputy Manager to join their expanding team and help lead the home with compassion integrity and purpose.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager youll support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service. Youll play a key leadership role in delivering excellent care promoting positive outcomes and ensuring that the home remains fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation.
No two days are ever the same. The role is both challenging and highly rewarding. Youll be part of a dedicated and energetic team that shares a commitment to improving the lives of children and young people aged 818 with complex behavioural needs and learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise mentor and support a team of residential care staff
- Promote a safe nurturing and structured environment for young people
- Ensure all care meets the standards set out by the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 Ofsted and local authorities
- Contribute to staff training development and rota management
- Support in completing care plans risk assessments and behaviour management strategies
- Work a flexible rota including weekends evenings and on-call duties
- Support in audits inspections and quality assurance processes
- Lead by example in promoting safeguarding independence and personalised care
- Assist the Registered Manager in the safe and effective running of the childrens home
What Were Looking For:
Were looking for a committed and compassionate leader who shares our values and is driven to create positive lasting change in young peoples lives.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or senior role within a childrens home
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks safeguarding and relevant care legislation
- A Deputy Manager with excellent communication leadership and organisational skills
- Confident in managing a team and handling challenging situations
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a childrens residential setting
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
