Summary of the Role
We are seeking a SaaS Architect to lead the design optimization and next evolution of our Ruby on Rails ColdFusion and SQL Server-based application architecture hosted in GCP. This role will be responsible for establishing the framework and technical direction for our modular front-end and backend integration layer - enabling scalable resilient and efficient development across multiple teams.
This architect will focus on evolving the architecture of the Composer CMS platform - Finalsites flagship content management solution - ensuring a scalable modular platform that delivers high performanceaccessibility and an excellent user experience for our global education customers.

100% Remote - Anywhere within Poland - Our Poland office is located in Krakow (B2B Contract)
Finalsite is a global company and to enable strong collaboration we have established common core working hours. Candidates should be comfortable working from 10:00-19:00 CEST with core working hours being 16:00-19:00 CEST
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with engineering product and design teams to align architecture with business goals and user experience.
- Lead technical decision-making and provide best practices for designing building and maintaining composable components.
- Ensure system scalability performance and maintainability through smart architectural decisions.
- Modernize the application as needed and evaluate new technologies and frameworks to continually enhance the platforms capabilities.
- Hands-on contribution to the code base in writing and reviewing work.
- Support key customers and system troubleshooting as needed.
- Drive technical standards patterns and reusable infrastructure that enable distributed teams to build consistently.
- Contribute to a better developer environment and more efficient code delivery pipeline.
- Define and evolve the application architecture to decompose monolithic aspects support scalable micro frontends modular services and seamless integration across platforms.
- Mentor engineering teams on implementing the application framework effectively.
- Own the documentation and communication of architectural guidelines and decisions.
- Guide frontend modernization of Composers UI using design tokens shared libraries and consistent theming.
- Champion accessibility (WCAG 2.1) SEO and internationalization best practices in Composers architecture.
Qualifications and Skills
- 8 years of experience in software engineering or architecture roles.
- Proven experience in composable architectures micro frontends and platform engineering.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (ideally GCP) CI/CD containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and API gateways.
- Deep expertise with the majority of products in our stack such as Ruby on Rails CSS HTML Javascript Typescript. Experience with modern frameworks (e.g. React Vue) and component design systems also desired.
- Development experience with ColdFusion Ruby on Rails PostgreSQL and SQL Server highly desired.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and their technical implementation.
- Familiarity with tools like Backstage Module Federation or similar platforms is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in enterprise SaaS or complex web applications.
- Familiarity with design tokens dynamic theming and shared libraries.
- Passion for developer experience automation and scalable architecture.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
