Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Buyer to join the purchasing department of our custom window manufacturing company leverage procurement expertise and supplier relationship management experience to drive cost-effective purchasing decisions and support organizational growth as a Senior Buyer. Committed to delivering high-quality materials and services on time and within budget while aligning procurement strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze material demand and usage to forecast purchasing needs and optimize inventory levels.

  • Place and manage purchase orders with vendors; track delivery timelines and follow up on delayed or late shipments.

  • Maintain inventory to meet target levels set by management ensuring adequate supply without overstock.

  • Coordinate material deliveries and expedite urgent orders to meet production requirements.

  • Identify and build relationships with secondary vendors to ensure supply chain continuity and reduce risk.

  • Negotiate pricing quantity discounts and freight terms to maximize value while fostering positive supplier relationships.

  • Work closely with production materials and finance teams to align material needs and timing.

  • Investigate and resolve supply chain or inventory-related issues efficiently and effectively.

  • Recommend and implement improvements in purchasing processes to drive cost savings and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2 years in a purchasing or material buying role ideally within a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP or purchasing systems.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.

  • Organized detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Solid understanding of inventory control and supply chain best practices.
