Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience

Veritas NetBackup installation support and management
-
Implementation and management of HP Enterprise Storage (3Par) as well as management across Nimble and NetApp platforms

Implementation and management of SAN fabrics switches and components
-
Enterprise storage hardware and software fault resolution in HA critical estates

Shell script writing
-
RedHat Linux v6/7/8/9 experience

Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 experience

Networking protocols and topologies

Strong skills in verbal and written communication including the writing and reviewing of technical content

Monitoring backups and Disaster Recovery

Candidate must be able to achieve SC security vetting clearance

Proven customer-facing experience in an IT service role

Experience of working effectively individually or as part of a highly motivated small to medium-sized team in an Infrastructure/Application ITIL-based support environment

Experience of supporting business-critical real-time systems ensuring high levels of availability through direct actions

Demonstration of accountability to see issues through to successful resolutions

Experience of working in 2nd line support; site attendance required

Experience in technically training and mentoring colleagues

A desire to expand knowledge into other domains and think outside of the box
