You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailNaphCare is partnering with the Washoe County Sheriffs Office to hire a Group Facilitator and/or Recreational Therapist to join our THRIVE Jail Based Treatment Program (JBTP) that operates as a 30-bed adult specialized behavioral health unit at Washoe County Detention Facility in Reno NV.
The THRIVE Jail-Based Treatment Program provides specialized behavioral health services for patients awaiting transfer to state hospital for court-ordered treatment. The program provides intensive multidisciplinary treatment in a therapeutic environment. The ultimate goal is to improve patients health and welfare in sustainable ways and enable them to move forward with their legal situation.
As a Recreation Therapist have you ever wanted to work somewhere where you can see real results from what you do Where you are part of a true mental health professional team well-supported by management such that you know your patients quickly receive any medications they need receive fast follow-up from providers and experience remarkable results Would you like to work in a place that is secure and where most patients are very appreciative of your care As a Correctional Group Facilitator and/or Recreational Therapist you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide counseling and mental health care to the individuals in residence. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex mental health and medical needs.
The Group Facilitator/Recreational Therapist will assess clients plan and implement diverse daily therapeutic groups and evaluate recreational goals all aimed at improving overall mental health including general functioning physical heath motivation for treatment and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a mental health and/or correctional setting facilitating group activities for those with mental illness and/or disabilities and in working within a multidisciplinary team. Must have the ability to stand for long periods lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds) bend squat reach push pull walk significant distances and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
