This position is in Marseille reporting to the Lyon local office manager. Geographically this position will serve the PACA part of Occitanie (Montpellier) regions and Monaco. This is a unique opportunity to develop a permanent commercial footprint for Chubb in the area.

Some of the role responsabilities :

  • Define and execute the sales strategy in the southeast part of France focusing on developing our key industry practices (Life Science Technology Media Real Estate Climate)
  • Be the representative of Chubb locally with brokers and partners by building developing and structuring strong and durable relationships.
  • Lead brokers animation and distribution to develop a profitable portfolio and achieve quarterly broker visitation goals. Identify portfolio or brokers with industry specialism.
  • Work closely with the underwriting teams in Lyon and in France to present our underwriting appetite in order to develop new business opportunities.
  • Identify market trends in the regions help identify the Industry practices unmet needs in this market.
  • Report regularly and forecast results to the Lyon field office manager.

Along with the other BDM (Business development manager) in Paris Bordeaux Lille Nantes Strasbourg Toulouse and Lyon the BDM Marseille plays a key leadership role in driving the business locally.

Key Responsibilities:

Broker management

  • Maintain CHUBB visibility in close relation with line managers and increase our market share in this market develop our revenue while maintain our profitability.
  • Develop our local sales presence in managing and reinforcing relationship with brokers across all lines of business
  • Organize brokers visits according to the broker segmentation and support the field presence of the underwriters
  • Define the financial goals by line and by broker for the main brokers
  • Ensure efficiency of broker visits made in the region: preparation work agreed actions trip reports actions follow up.
  • Plan broker entertainment
  • Analyse and monitor sales KPIs by lines of business and by broker and come up with actions that maximise our potential
  • Represent CHUBB during professional shows or event including industry trade events.
  • Ensure good Data quality

Sales actions :

  • Prospecting Cross selling to ensure saturation of our IP clients promoting our online platform solution
  • Pipeline Management in conjunction with dedicated underwriters
  • Attend Monthly sales meeting in Paris
  • Build/develop a strong relationship/partnership with our main brokers/partners to proactively adapt our offer to market needs.
  • Develop a perfect knowledge of CHUBB underwriting appetite for each line of business.
  • Provide market intelligence.
  • Develop new contacts to enlarge our footprint and reinforce our position on that market.

Reporting :

  • Monthly reporting to Lyon Field Office Manager

Internal stakeholder management:

Influencing other Underwriters as well as business Lines Managers with whom he/she needs to become a trusted partner

Cross work with operational functions (Operations claims.. )



Qualifications

Skills & Experience required:

  • Good working knowledge of the insurance market including competitor and broker analysis.
  • Results driven with ability to make decisions and work on your own initiative.
  • Highly motivated and with a solutions mindset and a keen interest in the subject matter including macro and micro factors that impact the industry.
  • Desire to continue to develop technical and broader business skills (technical lines property casualty).
  • Ability to pre-empt the needs of more senior members of the team and support on project work.
  • Experience of underwriting traditional energy/power and/or renewable energy/alternative fuel construction and operational property risks.
  • Good presentation and development skills
  • Fluent English native French language.
