Position Overview
Calian Advanced Technologies is looking for individuals to join our Assembly team. As an assembler you will perform tasks related to the production of electronics and their associated products. You will be working in a hands-on environment to fabricate and inspect printed circuit card assemblies electrical/electronic sub-assemblies and/or cable opportunity is an entry level position and Calian has developed a comprehensive training program to set up you for success in the role.
Please note this is a full time summer position.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing pre-forming and installing components on innovative projects.
- Cutting stripping and forming cables and/or harness assemblies.
- terminating and installing wires jumper and connector assemblies.
- Soldering components.
- Ensuring a high quality of work by inspecting assembled items and performing simple testing procedures for compliance to standards and drawings.
- Identifying components including those which require ESD precautions.
- Following prescribed documentation and manufacturing procedures.
- Recognizing hand tools and know their proper application.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (no previous experience required)
- A reliable employment history
- An interest in working in a team environment
- You will have the ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
- You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
