Job Purpose:

The Assembler is responsible for providing general labor. Performs manual and semi-automatic assembly processes to produce finished products and subassemblies


Primary objectives:

  1. Executes work prioritized by their Supervisor.
  2. Record all work performed via computer using SAP transactions.
  3. Contact supervisor in the event of any discrepancies.
  4. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  5. Clean up work area at end of shift.
  6. Attend pertinent training workshops.
  7. Receive in-house training in areas of hazardous material policies procedures and general workplace safety.
  8. Required to monitor own work be self-motivated and possess the ability to be supervised.
  9. Ability to read and interpret complicated blueprints drawings flowcharts and build plans.
  10. Possess flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks independently in an organized manner.
  11. Ability to train necessary manufacturing activities to fellow employees.
  12. Must balance quality productivity cost safety and morale to achieve positive results in manufacturing areas.
  13. Adheres to applicable Martin Baker America operating procedures and work instructions at all times.

Key Accountabilities


  1. Provide labor technical and maintenance support for the heat treat area.
  2. Provide labor technical testing and maintenance support as needed.
  3. Possess ability to provide support with multiple product line.

Experience/Education:

Required:

Position requires a High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing of products.

Communications

Position requires accurate and complete verbal and written communication skills between Department Supervisors and production line employees.

Technical Ability

Position requires the ability to operate and use computer and make complete and accurate entries into preformatted screens. Possess general math skills. Ability to read and interrupt complicated blue prints drawings flowcharts and build plans. Have ability to make minor adjustments to machines. Be able to bring up work to list in SAP. Ability to use hand tools (wrenches sockets pliers utility knives etc.) and the use of power tools (air and electric screwdrivers pneumatic pop riveters etc.). Must possess ability to setup run and monitor small pneumatic and hydraulic presses and orbital and radial riveters. Assemble components with adhesives sealants and use inspection equipment (scales venires force gauges etc.).

Leadership

Position requires the ability to display leadership of other personnel not under direct supervision.

Management

Position requires a demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks accurately and on-time. Does not supervise other employees.

Teamwork

Position requires demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with subordinates peers supervisors and managers.


Other Requirements:


Physical Ability

Position requires to sit stand bend and move frequently throughout the facility. Will be required to lift material not exceeding 50 lbs.

Travel

Occasional local travel is expected with this position.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields. For the most part the employee will be exposed to ambient room temperatures lighting and traditional office equipment.
