- Lead high quality program planning; incorporating the Ys values
- Maintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
- Operate the center as per the Ys child behavior management guidelines
- Build healthy relationships with children parents teachers colleagues and external stakeholders
- Actively interact with children ages 6-12 as a play partner and homework helper
- Support implementation of play based educational programming including interactive play literacy mathematics science building drama games team building daily physical activity and sports
- Promotes philanthropy and volunteerism through the YMCA

Certificate/diploma/degree in a related field and/or ECE Assistant certification (considered an asset)
Ability to work independently make decisions and execute work with minimal support in an environment with many urgent and competing priorities.
Models sensitivity to the diverse needs of participants such as literacy emotional social behavioural and cultural differences and who can ensure participant information is kept confidential
Exceptional interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office tools
