Job Title: Chief Geologist

Our client an established gold producer with international operations is seeking an experienced and hands-on Chief Geologist to lead its geological and exploration efforts at a site in Western Australia. This strategic leadership role reports directly to the Registered Manager and supports both operational and long-term resource development objectives.
Lead all geological activities including resource modelling grade control exploration reconciliation and mine geology.
Manage and mentor a team of geologists and technicians to ensure high standards of data logging sampling and analysis.
Design and implement resource growth strategies through brownfield and greenfield exploration programs.
Oversee geological modelling QA/QC protocols and support in reporting to JORC standards.
Collaborate with operations mine planning and metallurgy teams to integrate geological inputs into production planning.
Manage geological software systems (e.g. Leapfrog Surpac Micromine) and ensure database accuracy and reporting integrity.
Prepare technical reports and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to workplace health safety and environmental (HSE) standards across geological activities.
Degree in Geology Geological Engineering or Earth Sciences (Master s preferred).
At least 10 years of experience in mine and exploration geology including 3 years in a senior leadership position.
Strong expertise in open-pit gold mining; underground experience considered an advantage.
Proficiency in geological software such as Leapfrog Surpac Micromine or similar.
Demonstrated experience in JORC/NI 43-101 reporting drilling program management and resource estimation.
Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
Working knowledge of Australian mining laws and WHS compliance.
Must have full working rights in Australia.
