Job Description
Job Title: Surgical Services Scrub Tech Position
Job Location: Newport VT
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
- Prepare and set up the operating room before procedures including instruments supplies and equipment
- Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique ensuring sterile field integrity .
- Anticipate surgeons needs and pass instruments supplies and sutures during procedures
- Perform sponge needle and instrument counts before during and after surgery
- Assist with patient positioning transfers and draping as needed .
- Handle and label specimens appropriately
- Clean decontaminate and sterilize instruments post-procedure; restock and organize surgical suite .
- Collaborate with circulating staff to uphold infection control and safety protocols .
- Participate in on call rotations for emergency or after-hours cases .
- Maintain documentation of procedures supply usage and equipment readiness .
- Engage in continuing education and uphold AST Standards of Practice
