Job Description
Job Title: Solar Design Engineer - Electrical
Job Location: Navalur Chennai
Overview
We are looking for experienced design engineer in solar sector. Having both roof-top and ground mounted solar experience is a plus. The candidate is expected to lead and participate from sales technical support to final commissioning of the projects. Good working knowledge on Design and energy simulation software is must.
Key Responsibilities
- Design solar energy systems focusing on electrical components
- Perform site assessments to determine solar efficiency
- Utilize PV modeling software for system performance analysis
- Prepare technical specifications and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to finalize system requirements
- Ensure compliance with all local and national electrical codes
- Develop system layouts and schematics using AutoCAD
- Conduct energy yield assessments for proposed installations using PVSyst
- Assist with project management from conceptualization to
- Provide technical support during the installation phase
- Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements
- Participate in project meetings presenting design concepts and updates
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for design-related issues
- Prepare reports and documentation for project evaluation
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in solar design
- Strong knowledge of photovoltaic systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD PVSyst and other design software
- Familiarity with solar energy technologies and applications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Certifications related to solar design are a plus
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the renewable energy sector
- Willingness to travel for site assessments and project meetings as needed
- Passion for renewable energy and sustainable practices
