Legal Counsel – Temporary

We are now looking for an Interim Legal Counsel to join our Legal Compliance team at the Stockholm Head Office. This is an opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in working with law and compliance in the world of retail and fashion.  

WHAT YOULL DO   

In this roleyou will be focusing on a wide range of legal compliance matters primarily in the areas of consumer law and e-commerce regulation. The position comes with lots of responsibility complexity variety and lots of fun. You will work with a high degree of autonomy being able to plan and manage your activities. Your tasks will cover a broad spectrum of questions with a global perspective in a large and exciting organization.  
 

Key Responsibilities: 

• You will act as a strategic legal partner and provide legal advice and support across H&M Groups functions brands regions and markets.
• Play an active role in decision-making related to legal and commercial matters to ensure compliance and achieve the best business result possible including risk identification and mitigation. 
• Contribute to knowledge development within the H&M Group including creating policies guidelines legal processes templates and best practices as well as holding training sessions for the business stakeholders where needed. 
• Collaborate with the other teams at H&M Group Legal in order to provide comprehensive legal support to the company.  
• Support and answer questions and inquiries received from authorities organizations and customers to cultivate strong relationships and deliver the best customer experience.  

WHO YOULL WORK WITH    

As a colleague in the Legal Compliance Teamyou will belong to a team within the Group Legal function. The team which currently consists of 13 people works closely together both within the team and with the rest of the business and we always strive to find the best solutions to complex issues. We provide legal support to the H&M Group in a wide range of legal areas such as Consumer Rights Marketing Law Competition & Antitrust Data Privacy AI & Digital and Environmental Social & Governance related regulations.

As Legal Counsel within the Legal Compliance Team you area team player full of drive and optimism. You must be comfortable in communicating with different stakeholders and be able to explain complex matters in an easily digestible manner. You have an open and flexible mindset that helps you thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. You have a can-do attitude and a service-minded approach with the great ability to structure and prioritize your work. 
 

We also seek the following qualifications: 

• You have a university law degree.  
• A minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience in EU consumer law from company authority or law firm. 
• Experience in consumer rights e-commerce selling models drafting and reviewing terms & conditions as well as answering questions and inquiries received from enforcement authorities organizations and customers.  
• Experience in competition law ESG (environmental social and governance) product compliance and data privacy are also meriting. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (professional English required).  

Additional information 

This is a temporary assignment from October 2025 to end of September 2026 (approximately 11 months). The position is based at the head-office in Marievik/Liljeholmen in Stockholm.
