Job Summary
Public Records Aides under direct supervision with some latitude for the exercise of independent judgment or action perform work involving library operations records retrieval document storage or disposal of outdated materials in an archival library or records management setting; perform document imaging; may utilize computers and document imaging and retrieval equipment in the performance of duties. All Public Records Aides perform related work.
Special Working Conditions:
Some of the physical activities performed by Public Records Aides are:
-lifting and carrying boxes weighing approximately 30 pounds;
-pushing hand trucks or carts containing materials weighing in excess of 30 pounds within the agency
-working in very dusty enclosed spaces.
-building and destroying boxes.
-Reaching stooping kneeling.
-Working with heavier boxes 40 -60 pounds by emptying out some of the contents in order to move them.
-Assisting in filling in Shred-It Bins in different locations within the agency
Essential Functions:
-Verify inventory of different types of records
-determine discrepancies in quantities/Information and record/Inform
-Capturing information on excel Spreadsheets.
-Identifying opportunities for process improvement
-Perform Quality Assurance of Information Captured.
-Scanning of documents (index cards books binders etc)
-Data Capture of different records type to create Electronic records
Other:
-Completes assigned tasks based on target goals set for the project
-Performs other related duties as assigned
SUMMER COLLEGE INTERN - 10234
Qualifications :
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program June - August each year.
