Job Description

HOURS/WEEK:Up to 25 hours (Tutors do not work during Intercession)
DEPARTMENT: Tutoring Services
GENERAL PURPOSE
Molloys Tutoring Services tutors provide students with individualized assistance for course content and assignments. Professional Tutors lead one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with students to help them understand key concepts of college-level introductory to advanced courses.
- Reviewing syllabi topics and assignments with the student/s.
- Assist students with homework test preparation and other academic tasks.
- Assist students in improving their academic performance including study strategies note-taking skills and approaches to answering test questions.
- Develop and distribute teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons including study guides.
- Providing students with positive and constructive feedback.
- Expertise in teaching at the college level would complement this role.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree and/or prior college-level teaching is preferred
SALARY INFORMATION
When determining the salary offer for a new employee Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge skills and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring hourly pay rate for this position is $40.00. This hiring hourly pay rate represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
