POSITION TITLE: Dean of Students High School
JOB LEVEL: Administrative Compensation Plan
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt 12-Month Work Calendar
REPORTS TO: High School Principal or Administrative Designee
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Dean of Students will work directly with students staff and parents to mediate disputes resolve behavior problems and recommend discipline according to school guidelines. This position works under the general supervision of the site administrator enforcing school regulations and district policy. This position helps maintain an orderly and safe campus.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: The candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Education or related field required. Masters degree preferred. 3 years of teaching or administrative experience in a culturally-diverse school setting preferred. Arizona Teaching and/or Administrative certificate highly preferred. Clean fingerprint record from The Arizona Department of Public Safety.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision corrected to 20/20 hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk sit stand kneel crouch crawl reach lift (exerting force up to 50 pounds) carry push pull or otherwise move objects up to 125 lbs.
REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Arizona Drivers License and the ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 60 days of employment.
