Job Description

Planning Engineer
Irvine CA
Full - Time / Direct Hire

About:

Seeking a skilled engineer to support planning and hydraulic modeling for potable water sewer and recycled water systems across public sector projects in California and nationwide. This role involves system assessments identifying improvements and contributing to integrated water resource planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop master plans and feasibility studies for municipal water systems
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling to evaluate system performance and future needs
  • Assist with water supply studies climate impact integration and infrastructure design
  • Analyze data using GIS Excel and modeling software
  • Prepare technical reports presentations and proposals
  • Mentor junior staff and support business development
  • Participate in client meetings site visits and internal technical teams
Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering (MS/PhD preferred)
  • PE license required
  • 5 10 years in water/wastewater system modeling and planning
  • Proficient in modeling tools (InfoWater EPANET SWMM ArcGIS etc.)
  • Strong technical writing communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in sewer system modeling preferred
  • Knowledge of forecasting and climate resilience strategies
