We are seeking a Senior Contract Management & Intellectual Property Specialist based in Port Melbourne in a full-time permanent capacity. In this role you will be working collaboratively across the business and in support of the Research and Engineering teams to ensure that all contracts are managed effectively and any changes are communicated across the business.
The role will have a procedural focus with involvement in business impact assessments. Key to your success in this role will be your ability to manage complex work statements supporting the Research and Engineering portfolio and often urgent requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Exercises appropriate signature authority leads and participates in negotiating and contracting for the sale and support of aerospace products services technologies financing and the licensing of intellectual property to support company strategies
- Contract negotiation of business terms & conditions and requirements (including for R&D supply agreements university agreements containing Intellectual property complexities) in a team environment with engagement of other subject matter experts within the business
- Accurate and timely development of proposals and business terms
- Leads the presentation and development of complex business solutions to preserve and expand the business
- Leads coordination and partnership with other internal functional disciplines
- Represents the company in external negotiations to a diverse set of customers
- Authority to prepare negotiate execute interpret and administer legally binding contractual agreements of a complex nature for The Boeing Company
- Summarise complex contractual issues and lead development of creative solutions and coordination of contractual risk mitigation. Identify create visibility and flow down of customer contract requirements and risks to the whole business
- Continuous improvement; updating simplification and alignment of procedures applicable to contracts and business operations
- Provide contractual advice to the business and leadership team
- Contract administration to ensure performance and implementation of corrective actions
- Monitor and report enterprise performance metrics
- Ensure compliance to government and customer policies and regulations
- The duties to be undertaken will include those set out in the Employees Job Classification or such other duties as reasonably directed by the Company on a permanent or temporary basis.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
The successful candidate will be highly motivated flexible driven and be expected to demonstrate the following skills experience and qualifications;
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Typically 10 years proven experience in Contract Administration Contract Management Legal Procurement or Business Management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrated experience of customer/supplier interaction. As well as the ability to liaise with colleagues of all levels
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is essential as well as strong decision making and problem solving skills
- The ability to perform with minimal direction to support diverse and urgent customer needs
- Ability to work with urgency and deliver to commitments whilst being able to work in challenging conditions
- Project management capabilities
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
- Tertiary level or equivalent qualifications in law contracts procurement logistics engineering business management or other related discipline (or working towards)
- Research & development university relations & intellectual property experience highly regarded
- Experience within a complex manufacturing environment or global enterprise highly regarded
Additional information
This is a Non EBA IJC 5A86I4 position and remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 6 month probationary period.
