Job Description

3 months contract with local authority

Role Summary:
As a Newly Qualified Social Worker you will be responsible for undertaking casework with children young people and families while adhering to legislative and policy frameworks. This role will also involve participating in work-based and off-site training and developmental activities as directed by the relevant government program for newly qualified social workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing work with children young people and families in various settings ensuring that the child/young person s voice is central to all case work and recording.
  • Delivering recognized packages of support and tools to engage children young people and families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Building purposeful effective relationships with children and families and demonstrating a high level of skill in evidence-based effective social work approaches.
  • Undertaking assessments of need and risk planning for outcomes and reviewing in line with procedures.
  • Maintaining timely and accurate case recording in line with practice standards and managing information in line with the council s policies and procedures.



Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Completion of the relevant government-directed program for newly qualified social workers.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and policy frameworks related to social work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and manage conflicting demands.
  • Willingness to participate in court work and give evidence on behalf of the Local Authority.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and supervision.


Requirements: Proven experience in quality assurance and reviewing services for children and young people Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory safeguarding requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to championing the rights and well-being of children and young people
