Position Overview: The Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine is excited to inviteapplications for an energetic self-starting Philanthropy Officer. This is a wonderfulopportunity for a passionate fundraising professional to help shape the future of veterinaryeducation in Arkansas and Philanthropy Officer will play a key role in building lasting relationships with alumni friendsand supporters inspiring major philanthropic gifts that directly impact students research andthe broader veterinary community. This is a hands-on donor-facing position for someone whothrives on creating connections and making a meaningful difference. Experience in veterinary medicine or veterinary education is a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify cultivate and solicit potential donors with a focus on securing majorgifts of $50000 and above.
Develop thoughtful strategies to engage donors and match their passions with theschools most exciting opportunities.
Initiate personal outreach conduct face-to-face visits and steward donors withauthenticity and care.
Collaborate closely with faculty and staff to craft compelling cases for support that inspiregenerosity.
Represent Lyon College and the School of Veterinary Medicine at donor events visitsand community gatherings.
Maintain clear and timely records of donor interactions and fundraising activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
At least 7 years of proven success in major gift fundraising ideally in educationhealthcare or related fields.
Demonstrated ability to self-motivate prioritize independently and consistently moveprospects to ward major commitments.
Highly motivated self-starter with a natural ability to build strong authentic relationships.
Outstanding interpersonal storytelling and communication skills.
Comfort working independently while also collaborating with a passionatemission-driven team.
Willingness to travel regularly and participate in occasional evening and weekendactivities.
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record required.
